Dremel digilab 3d slicer software download11/23/2023 ![]() I could speculate about why the Dremel engineers are setting the print speeds of the profiles too high, but that’s not the point of this review. The only way the HQ print outshines the MQ print is that it has less layer stepping, which is hard to notice past its other faults. Here is the result:īy nearly every objective measure, the “Medium Quality” print is superior to the “High Quality” print. To demonstrate that claim, I increased the layer height to the Medium Quality 0.2mm/200 micron setting and lowered the print speed from 50 to 35 I also lowered the extrusion temperature from 220 to 218, decreased the flow rate from 100% to 99.5%, and increased the retraction distance from 2mm to 2.5mm. While it does increase Z resolution and surface appearance, there are several other print settings that need to be correctly configured in order to realize the quality improvements gained by using lower layer heights. It is a misconception that layer height is the primary driver of 3D print quality. Some stringing and the merging of the support pillars with the part indicate that the temperature might be a bit high, and some dotting told me that more retraction was needed. Beyond that, there are minor inconsistencies in the layers that I attribute to motion backlash and not enough cooling, both of which are easily addressed by slowing the print speeds. Supports weren’t needed for this print, but some of the print settings were causing the supports to merge with the print, making them impossible to fully remove. That’s certainly not the best the 3D40 Flex can do, though. And then after some difficulty removing most of the supports, this was the result:įor a first print, it’s pretty good some users would be pleased while others might feel a bit disappointed with what they believe is the best quality the machine can produce. After easily removing the bed from the machine and bending the plate slightly, the part popped right off. The default settings included supports, which are not necessary for the Benchy model. This was, by far, the fastest, easiest, most straightforward 3D printer setup I’ve personally experienced. From the unboxing to the beginning of the print, perhaps 15 minutes had past. To my amazement, the printer initiated its nine-point self-leveling process (it does this before every print and takes only a couple minutes) and then started printing. So I loaded up Benchy, a standard torture test, and sliced it with the standard High Quality (0.1mm/100 micron layers) profile without even looking at the parameters/settings and sent it to the printer. USB Flash Drive (with slicing software and a few 3D models)įor the first print, I wanted to simulate how a certain type of potential customer might use the printer: someone who has little-to-no 3D printing experience or knowledge but has high expectations. Why go three feet across my office when I can instantly send a 3D file through the air? What’s in the box The last step is optional as files can be moved to the printer via the included USB drive, but this is 2019. I then installed the included slicing software onto my computer and connected the printer to my wifi. For leveling, the touchscreen also guides users through the process, which involves turning each of the two knobs below the bed until it prompts to stop. ![]() The filament spool is loaded into the left side where the filament is fed through a guide tube before reaching the extruder the touchscreen prompts users when to insert the filament into the top of the extruder and it takes it from there. It comes FULLY assembled and the only steps to get going include loading the filament and leveling the bed. I’ve worked with paper printers that took longer to set up than this 3D printer. I was eager to get printing so I immediately got it into my office. I like the decision to use a ribbon cable on the extruder, and the flexible (where it gets its namesake), magnetic bed is a wonderfully convenient feature that’s well designed we’ll cover it more later. The blue tape was a bit cumbersome but not a big deal.Įverything seems well put together and sturdy. It’s rather light so it’s easy to lift out, and removing the inserts did not break them, which is especially relevant here as I’ll be returning this printer after the review. The 3D40 Flex is very well packaged as it’s entirely box-shaped, it comes with only a few custom inserts, mostly to hold everything in place within the build chamber. Packaging may seem trivial but it was a real problem in the early days of desktop 3D printers as many arrived damaged from poor packaging. 13f mos11/23/2023 ![]() As stated in ATP 3-09.30, Techniques for Observer Fire, “Observers equipped with nothing more than a map, binoculars, and compass typically have a mean target location error of about 250 meters. All of this will build on our modernized, institutional foundational courses with a focused training regiment based on unit specific METL and targeting technologies specific to each formation. These changes present the fires community with enhanced training and certification opportunities at the operational level. The operational level enablers that make these initiatives possible include the recent Army directed force structure changes the re-activation of the Division Artillery (DIVARTY) and the assignment of our Fire Support personnel back into the FA Battalions. As we graduate our Fire Support Soldiers and Officers from the institutional instruction to the operational forces, their fire support training and certification will be enhanced based on their units’ Mission Essential Task List (METL). This precision refinement capability will be improved in the next generation of precision software (fielding in FY17), the Pocket Sized Forward Entry Device (PFED) Inc II, embedded in the Nett Warrior (NW) ensemble. This level of precision target refinement is being taught as part of the expanded 13F AIT and BOLC curriculums. At Company and below, usage of Precision Fires Imagery (PFI), a digitized chip cut from PSS SOF, enables our Platoon Forward Observers to refine their target using precision imagery. These precision imagery software capabilities are essential for the timely and responsive employment of precision munitions at the BCT and BN Task Force levels. This training enables our Fire Supporters to manage and use mensuration tools such as the Precision Strike Suite Special Operations Forces (PSS-SOF) at the appropriate echelon. We expect to achieve both of these goals during FY 2015.Īdditionally, Target Mensuration Only (TMO) is being fully integrated into the 13F Advanced Leaders Course (ALC), FA Captains Career Course (FACCC) and the Warrant Officer Basic Course (WOBC). Another primary effort in 2015 is additional expansion of 13F AIT to integrate critical JFO tasks with the ultimate goal of establishing 13F AIT as a JFO accredited program. Once we have achieved the right balance of precision targeting and Joint Fires instruction in BOLC, we will invite the Joint Fire Support Executive Steering Council (JFS ESC) JFO accreditation team to Fort Sill so they can assess BOLC as an accredited JFO qualification course. Our goal, through a comprehensive training approach that crosses all three training domains – Institutional, Organizational and Individual – is that ALL Field Artillery Officers and 13F Forward Observers are qualified as Joint and Precision Fires Observers. Lessons learned from over 12 years of conflict present us with this fact the operational force demands our Fire Supporters be subject matter experts in the operational art and science of integration and employment of precision and Joint Fires. In doing so, we are leveraging operational lessons learned combined with capabilities presented by rapidly expanding technologies.Īt the heart of this modernization effort is the expanding of the foundation of our Fire Support institutional instruction with both precision targeting and Joint Fires critical tasks. Anatomy of a giant manta ray11/22/2023 ![]() Efforts such as establishing protected marine areas, promoting sustainable fishing practices, and raising awareness about the importance of these majestic creatures are crucial in their preservation. The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) classifies Giant Manta Rays as vulnerable, highlighting the urgency to implement effective conservation strategies. These threats include entanglement in fishing gear, habitat degradation, pollution, and targeted fishing for their gill plates, which are highly valued in certain cultures. The conservation of Giant Manta Rays is of utmost importance due to the numerous threats they face. Females produce a single pup every two to five years, and the young are born fully formed and capable of independent swimming. Mating typically occurs in warmer months when individuals congregate in specific areas. Female rays give birth to live young after a gestation period of approximately one year. The reproductive cycle of Giant Manta Rays is a fascinating process. Giant Manta Rays are also known for their curiosity towards human divers, often approaching them with a sense of serenity and grace. These intelligent creatures display intriguing behaviors, such as leaping out of the water, barrel-rolling, and gliding close to the ocean’s surface. They are solitary animals, except during mating and feeding aggregations, where multiple individuals may gather. Giant Manta Rays are known for their gentle and docile nature. They have been observed in regions such as the Caribbean Sea, the Maldives, the Great Barrier Reef, and the Gulf of California. These magnificent creatures are known for their affinity for nutrient-rich waters where plankton concentrations are high, ensuring an ample food source.įemale manta at Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary Giant Manta Ray Behavior: These graceful creatures prefer warmer waters with temperatures ranging from 68☏ to 86☏ (20☌ to 30☌). This remarkable feeding strategy allows them to obtain the necessary nutrients for survival. Using their large mouths, they filter massive amounts of water, trapping prey with specialized structures called gill rakers. Their diet mainly consists of plankton, small fish, and crustaceans. Giant Manta Rays are filter feeders, meaning they primarily consume tiny organisms found in the water. Their upper surface is typically black or dark brown, while the ventral side is white or pale in color. They possess distinctive flat bodies, triangular pectoral fins, and a pair of cephalic fins, resembling large wings gracefully gliding through the water. Eventually, they become friends and Tyler decides to help Zac achieve his life’s ambition – to train at the wrestling school of Salt Water Redneck, whose video Zac has watched incessantly.
